VRC Crown Oaks Track Bias Report: Flemington is racing headquarters in Victoria, a spacious track with sweeping turns and a long home straight. On Oaks day the rail is often moved out after racing on Melbourne Cup day two days before, if the ground is Dead or worse we often see them avoiding the inside fence and heading to the centre of the track in search of better ground. The 2500m start at Flemington is situated just before the first turn in front of the grandstand in the home straight. An inside barrier is a slight advantage if the runner is capable of going forward and maintaining position, however it is difficult to lead all the way due to the distance involved.
