Can't get to a TAB? There are many advantages to opening an account online:  TOTE and FIXED PRICE betting, bet types such as QUINELLA, TRIFECTA, QUADDIE, DAILY DOUBLE and FIRST FOUR. You also have the option of FLEXI Betting, which allows you to invest a reduced amount on your multiple bets - so you can include more selections and increase your chances of winning big! You can use your TAB account to bet online or by phone.

Account holders have access to the latest racing news from Melbourne & Sydney as well as live audio & video online from Sport 927, 2KY and SKY. Your TAB account also gives you the option of fixed price betting on all feature races and major Australian sporting events.

For betting, the TAB website operates from 8.30am to the start of the last race every day. Whereas the minimum cost of a ticket over the counter in a TAB is AUD$3.00, you can place a bet online at tabracing.com.au for as little as 50c! It only takes a few minutes to open your account, and you can start betting right away.

Here is how to open a TAB account online:

Step 1: Go to TAB.com.au and click on JOIN NOW to begin Customer Registration. Use your Mastercard or Visa to make an initial deposit (minimum of AUD $20.00)

NOTE:  During registration, you will be asked to choose which jurisdiction you want your account in – NSW or VIC. Regardless of where you live we recommend VIC, as it gives you more flexibility and betting options, but the choice is yours. Once registered, the minimum deposit to your account is $20 and there are no credit card fees.


Step 2: You will be asked to choose a password and 4-digit PIN, then you will automatically receive your new 6-digit Account Number  - this enables you to begin placing bets immediately during Operating Hours. Write down your new Account Number, PIN and Internet Password and store them in a secure location.
 
Step 3: Within 24 hours of opening your new account, you will receive a Welcome Email. You will need to follow the instructions contained in this email to complete the last step of your registration process. This last step simply requires you complete, sign and return the Account Activation Form and if you are an Australian Resident supply Acceptable Identification totalling 100 Points.

You can deposit money into your account at any TAB using your account card, by using your Visa or Mastercard credit card, BPay, Cheque or Money Order, or by setting up Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from your bank account. If you deposit with your credit card online you can start betting right away. If you're not using a credit card you should allow at least three days for the money to clear - so if you need funds for Saturdays racing, you should make your deposit on Wednesday.

You can't withdraw money to your credit card, but you can go into any TAB in NSW or VIC with your account details and PIN to get your cash - if you can't make it in person use EFT or request a cheque. EFT and BPay transactions usually take 24 - 48 hours to complete.

You don’t need to have a credit card or live in NSW or VIC to open a TAB account. Even if you live outside Australia, you can open an account and transfer funds using your credit card or EFT (fees may apply).
